TruConnect Offers a free smartphone plus unlimited texting and talk. They were originally called SureLink or Telscape and they currently serve the state of California, Kansas, Nevada, Kentucky, and Missouri. In California to connect customers will get a better deal because there is a higher reimbursement level in California.

TruConnect is a new provider in the free government cell phone plan business. They are a part of the Lifeline assistance program that offers these free cell phones. According to a company representative they state:

California Plan

California residents will get unlimited texting, unlimited voice, and 500MB of data. You will receive a free smartphone on the program and you also get 200 minutes of calling to Mexico. The phones offered on this program are usually of the Android variety.

Other States

The plans in other states only give you 100 minutes of calling each month, unlimited texting, and 500MB of data.

Texas Plan

The Texas plan is a little bit different. You will receive 500mb of data, unlimited texting, and 100 minutes of voice
